Just because you are struggling, does not mean you are failing.
Remember that!

The Holistic Parent infant development consultant Ireland

From the time you bring your new baby home, most parents, whether you live in Ireland or somewhere else in the world, will listen and watch every nuance to ensure their baby is well and contented. From 0-6 months, a whole host of issues can cause periods of worry and concern for parents. Some new parents take it in their stride, but for others it can be a worrying and upsetting time which extends past the newborn period into infancy.

Parents’ worries in infancy can be literally anything. For example: –

  • Is my infant eating well or enough?
  • Why will my infant not sleep?
  • My baby tends to have a lot of wind. Why is that?
  • Should my baby be walking or talking by now?

I’d like to tell you I have all the answers – after all that’s what you’d expect from an infant consultant or mentor. Isn’t it?! The thing is, I do not, and in fact you probably have more answers than I do, as you are the parent and know your infant better than anyone. So, what can I do to help you?

Holistically there can be many reasons for issues throughout your child’s life. You are not always going to be able to have someone else step in to help, so I help and support you at the beginning, when you are starting the parenting journey and putting in place routines, practices and teachings for your little one. How you parent them now, as they are just beginning to learn about being a human being, will be the foundation for their future. Everything else they learn will just be layers on top of this foundation. I can support you as you lay the best groundwork you can.

I do not ‘fix’ anything. I mentor you as you learn how to parent, in a positive, holistic, and nurturing way. I want to help you become your own ‘Super Nanny’ for your children. Being a parenting coach and mentor for those with infants is less about the infant and a lot more about the parent. I have two important lessons for my parent clients to embrace. These are key to really feeling like a successful, positive parent for your infant.

Let’s work together, me as the parenting expert who can step back from the situation, you as the parent loving your child unconditionally. Both of us placing your wellness and holistic health and that of your infant as our top priority. Together we can make this time of infant, early child development, a special one, free of distress.

A Child is eager to Discover the World is built on Truth. We must respect that eagerness

Babies allow me to hold safe space for them and work with them in an intuitive way. In much the same way as animals have an inherent knowledge of a person’s character, so too do infants. When you see this in my interactions with your child, it confirms for you that I see, hear and understand you and your infant. That trust is vital in my work.

What does working with The Holistic Parent look like?

My ‘Infant Parenting’ programme runs over 14 days, similar to the Newborn Programme. If more work is needed after that, it begins after a further 14 days and would continue on a fortnightly basis until such time as you feel you can stand alone. The timing of this programme is one of the key elements. Enough interaction from me, so that you and your infant feel supported, but sufficient time between sessions for you and your infant to learn how to do your thing too. You can always come back to The Holistic Parent anytime you wish. Many parents do as their infant goes through the normal developmental milestones, or if they hit a bump in the road. This is an aspect of my work that I enjoy, being able to meet my little clients and their parents again, throughout their life.

Outcome:  Ciara required three sessions of interventions to improve the situation and resolve some of the difficulties. Sally herself had an additional session to further explore her own needs and how best to move forward for her own benefit and personal growth, this led to Sally participating in my Parent Support Programme.

Follow Up:  Following the intervention sessions and parent mentoring, Sally reported a real measurable improvement in Ciara’s digestive habits.

Lesson:   There were two lessons for Sally and Ciara in this situation. The first was about physical awareness and understanding how our body works and works best. The second was about self-awareness and Sally learning to manage stress in a way that made it easier for her to care for herself and in turn Ciara.
